FAST, furious and frenetic -- just what top-of-the-table clashes are all about.
And the football was decent too!
Leaders Accoutre took on Fulledge in a game both sides gave their all and neither side refused to budge.
Just when one side appeared to be getting the upperhand back came the opposition -- it was a credit to both teams who attacked with purpose and defended like demons.
Accoutre were first to draw blood when Karam Bhatti crashed a shot against the foot of the post before Fulledge broke away and Daniel Morville looped a shot over the bar after latching on to a ball from Robbie Taylor.
Bhatti was in the thick of the action for Accoutre and picked out Keiran Pickup who returned the favour but Bhatti's shot was blocked on the line before John Cocker fired just over the bar.
But it was far from one way traffic and Taylor and Morville combined again with the latter going close. Morville and Alex Marsden had the Accoutre defence on the back foot with some neat inter-changing following Morville's break from the halfway line.
Taylor and Daniel Noonan combined to release Morville who forced a fine save out of Ben Hodson.
After the break, both sides did their utmost to break the deadlock.
Taylor's fine run ended in a good tackle from Ben Catlow before Bhatti had another shot blocked by the Fulledge's impressive skipper Connor Stockdale.
Colts Noonan tested Hodson from range before the hard-working Chris Marsden went close at the other end. But with time slipping away, the deadlock was finally broken. Hewitt raced past two defenders and his by-line cross was turned home by Bhatti from close range. Bhatti then forced a great save out of James Molloy before Accoutre clinched the win with a wonderful individual effort from Keiran Pickup who skipped past two defenders to slot the ball home.
