YOUNG Bethany Rowlands is to star on TV after being proclaimed as Britain's best Junior Ready Steady Cook.
Bethany (10) was ice-cool in the London final when her special recipe ice-cream took the honours.
She will now appear on the BBC's "Ready Steady Cook" when she will receive her prizes from the show's presenter, Ainsley Harriot. It will be broadcast on Children in Need day, November 15. The final was held at top London restaurant Daphne's, where Bethany competed against two other youngsters.
The judges, headed by celebrity chef Ross Burden, were impressed with the creativity of her recipe and her calm performance under pressure.
"This competition has also raised hundreds of pounds for Children in Need," said Ross. "We all really liked the way that Bethany had picked up on this theme and used it to inspire her recipe: which, by the way, tasted as good as it looked."
Bethany, from Starling, entered the competition through the after-school club at Lowercroft CP School.
She created a Pudsey's Popular Pudding, a dish of cinnamon, chocolate and vanilla ice-cream decorated with the famous Children in Need mascot.
Ainsley will present Bethany with a full set of Junior Ready Steady Cook kids cooking appliances and £250 worth of toys.
Entrants were asked to donate £1 to Children in Need when they submitted their entries, and around £500 has been collected.
