A ROAD safety scheme in Pendle has been approved by the Nelson Committee.
Four schemes had been put forward including improving the cycle lane facilities in the Nelson area and flooding solution works in Rimington Place.
Pendle Borough Council approved plans to spend £4,000 on just two projects in May, but detailed proposals have only now been outlined. Chairman of the committee, Councillor Colin Waite, moved that two of the schemes should receive funding and a report should be brought back to the next meeting to allocate other funds.
He said other proposed items had disappeared from the list and he wanted information on them too before a decision. It was agreed that £2,000 should be given to footpath improvements around Walverden Reservoir and a further £2,000 to the Rimington Place flooding works.
A cycle link from the Reedyford site of Nelson and Colne College to Churchill Way and speed cushions on Brunswick Street were not approved.
