STARSTRUCK shih-tzu Gemma is keeping it in the family after taking over her brother's role in Coronation Street.
The pedigree pooch, trained in Oswaldtwistle, appeared on screen this week as the replacement for Rita's beloved Mr Woo.
Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted the similarities between Mr Woo, played by Gemma's brother Teddy, and Mr Woo Two.
Trainer Kevin Horkin coached both at his home in Haslingden Old Road and said the response from viewers had been good.
"The kids have apparently loved seeing the dogs because they're like living teddy bears."
The canine cohorts, from Oldham, were the latest in a long line of animals trained by the former Mount Carmel RC High School pupil.
"Mr Woo had a lot more to do than Mr Woo Two," said Kevin. "He had a lot more growling. All she had to do was look pretty."
Viewers of the top soap have loved the storyline which Mr Woo was killed after Rita headed off on holiday and left Emily and Norris - East Lancashire actor Malcolm Hebden - looking after him.
The pair were then seen desperately trying to find a replacement before she returned from a cruise.
Fans can see Teddy and Gemma at a fashion show in Accrington Town Hall on Friday, November 15, with street co-stars Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and Nikki Sanderson (Candice). For tickets call 01254 233458.
