POLICE today appealed for witnesses after two men were slashed with knives outside a DIY store on a busy road.
Detective Inspector Neil Hunter said three white men and three Asian men were involved in an incident outside Select DIY in Whalley Range, Blackburn.
It was not being treated as a racist incident.
A 24-year-old Asian man received superficial injuries after being slashed across the face.
A 37-year-old white man had worse injuries after being slashed to the leg, head and face.
Both were taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
The 37-year-old man is the only one still detained, but his injuries are thought to be relatively minor.
Four men were arrested, including the two injured people. The others were two white men aged 49 and 30.
DI Hunter said door-to-door enquiries would be carried out in the area to try and find other Asian men believed to have been involved.
He added: "We would like to appeal for information from any witnesses.
"They will be several people passing who witnessed something and didn't realise the nature of the incident.
"If anyone has seen anything outside Select DIY I would like to speak to them."
