A FIREWORK extravaganza helped rocket the Magic Eye appeal one stage further as 1,000 people turned out in force.
The weather stayed fine for the bonfire and celebrations at the Knowles Arms in Brownhill, Blackburn, which raised more than £500.
Kicking off at 6.30pm, admission was free but there were Magic Eye goodies on sale and collectors posted around the site.
Terry Barber, area representative for the Lancashire Evening Telegraph Appeal, said: "It was a truly magnificent spectacular with one of the best firework displays I have seen in a while.
"There was tremendous support for the appeal and the Knowles Arms did a really grand job."
The appeal aims to raise £200,000 for a state-of-the-art ultrasound endoscopic scanner.
The equipment will benefit the whole of East Lancashire by offering quicker and less traumatic diagnosis of stomach and oesophagus cancer.
