TWO men will be sentenced next month after they pleaded guilty to charges of violent disorder during last year's Burnley riots.
Shahid Khan and Amir Hussain, both of Burnley, admitted the charge following three days of legal arguments at Preston Crown Court.
They were a group of 14 Asians originally due to stand trial on various charges relating to the violence which rocked the town in June last year.
Two other men, Zoheel Akhtar and Sadeed Ahmed, also of Burnley, claimed they were unfit to stand trial on charges of violent disorder and their case will be reviewed later this month.
Another, Muntaz Ahmed, was dismissed from court after the Crown Prosecution Service decided to offer no evidence agianst him.
Only one of the group, Mohammed Quadri, will go to trial after pleading not guilty to a charge of violent disorder. He will appear before a judge at Preston Crown Court on Monday.
Eight other men were bound over or had no evidence offered against them in connection with lesser charges.
Khan and Hussain will both be sentenced when they appear before Judge David Boulton at Preston Crown Court on December 10.
