THE 34th autumn exhibition by the Pendle Artists' Society was opened by the Chairman of Lancashire County Council, County Councillor Niki Penney, at St George's Church in Preston.
Watercolours, oils and pastel paintings by more than 30 artists from across the North West are on
display.
Pendle Arts was formed in 1968 by students at Burnley Municipal College. Its aim is to encourage appreciation of visual arts and promote exhibitions of the highest standard.
The group holds two main exhibitions every year - in spring and autumn.
Coun Penney said: "The skill of these artists and the high standard of work on show here is very impressive.
"The artists have obviously put a lot of time and effort into these pictures and can now feel justifiably proud as they exhibit their work to the public.
