LEIGH Miners 'A' defied torrential rain to beat Culcheth Eagles 22-6.
Miners took an early lead with a try and goal from Evans. Culcheth equalised but a try by Morgan gave the Miners a 10-6 half time lead.
Second half tries by Patterson and Newton, both converted by Evans, gave the Miners a deserved win.
The Miners' star men were Evans, Wood and Hindley.
