BUTCHER Robin Skinner's sausages are certainly worth their weight in gold!
The owner of Greenmount Butchers won two gold awards and two silver for his bangers at the recent North West Award for Excellence in Meat Products.
Mr Skinner said: "Butchers from as far as Cheshire and Cumbria attended the competition, with as many as 200 in a class."
The gold awards went to the pork sausage and pork stilton celery sausages. The silver was awarded to the pork and leek sausage and the pork chilli and pepper sausage.
About his secret recipe, Mr Skinner said: "I'm not saying anything but it lies in the quality of the meat used."
