CORONATION Street actress Nikki Sanderson was not afraid to muck in when work started on a club's new swimming pool.
The star , who plays Candice in the popular soap, did the initial spadework by shifting the first mound of soil at Stables Leisure and Fitness Club, based off Walshaw Road in Bury.
The 20m by 15m pool is expected to completed by summer next year, and is the second one to be built there.
It is part of extension work to the club, which will also include expanding its gym.
