RANGERS took control early in the match as Tom Barkhuizen reacted first to a ball into the box from Josh Forest to open the scoring. He then doubled the lead with a well-executed free kick from outside the area giving a half-time score of 0-2. In the second half Our Lady came out more determined but were unable to break down Rangers' stubborn defensive pairing of Robert Wallace and Aaron Hitchcliffe.
Rangers rounded off the scoring with a fluid move beginning in defence finished by Tom after several good passes. Another solid all-round team performance.
OUR LADY U10s 0 BLACKPOOL RANGERS 5
RANGERS were quickly in front when Liam Beaumont converted a free kick from outside the area. Jonathan Robertson made it two with a back post header and added a further before half-time after some good build-up play. In the second half Jonathan Robertson completed his hat-trick after another good Rangers move and Ryan Lynch completed the scoring with a header at the back post. Another good solid team performance.
LYTHAM JUNIORS U12s 2 BLACKPOOL RANGERS 6
A GOOD clean game with plenty of attack by both sides. Blackpool Rangers opened the scoring late in the first half but were 0-2 up by half-time. Lytham started the second half well but Blackpool's third goal sealed the victory for Rangers who went on to score a further three goals.
The Blackpool keeper was beaten twice, once with a lob and then from a penalty despite getting fingertips to the ball. Scorers for Rangers were Luke Barkhuizen (3), Tom Langwade, Greg Woodworth and Chris Aitchison.
