ON Thursday, October 31, various pieces of equipment were handed over to Penwortham Town Council by Penwortham Community Action Group for use by local young people.
Attending the presentation was the Mayor of Penwortham, Tony Pimblett, youth leaders, members of the action group and sponsors of the equipment, including Paul Humphreys of Alcoa.
Since the establishment of Youth Nights at Kingsfold Community Centre, there has been a noticeable reduction of incidence of vandalism in the area.
A youth leader said, "This is now a place that young people want to come and have fun in. They now have a place which is theirs and we hope to expand our activities to cover a wider age group'.
Henry Royle (Chairman of PACG), Penwortham.
