'NEVER settle for second best and keep aiming higher' was the message from headteacher Vicki Devonport at Queen's Park Technology College at the annual awards evening last night.
She reminded students, parents and staff of the positive achievement the school had made but told them to continue the good work.
She said: "It seems a shame how quickly people jump to wrong conclusions. Take the time to focus on the positive message of the school.
"We have received a very positive Ofsted report and we encourage students and staff to aim higher. This is only achievable with the support of partners, sponsors and community members."
The following awards were made to pupils:
Sport -- Catherine Berry, Neil Jex
Languages -- Tanzeel Hussain
Mathematics -- Kristian Carrie
Technology -- Kim Reid
Lifelong learning -- Margaret Cornall, Salma Umergi
EAZ Award -- Scott Winter
Young achiever -- Nicholas Schofield.
