WELL, what a difference a couple of weeks makes. Three wins from the last four games have got everyone buzzing.
The only defeat being at top dogs Portsmouth, who were pushed all the way before running out lucky 3-2 winners.
Last Saturday's win over arch-rivals Burnley at Deepdale was something special, never mind what Stan Tennant thinks.
His comments on TV the day after were pathetic. Not once did he commend North End for their performance, moaning instead that his side missed enough chances to win three games?
He chose to ignore the fact that Cressy could have had a hat-trick, and the game should have been out of reach for Burnley by half-time!
Just where are you coming from Stan?
The win at Birmingham on Tuesday in the Worthington Cup was terrific too.
Again the following day the result is being played down in the press. Birmingham 'never really got going' said at least one of the dailies.
We'd rather think Birmingham played as well as they were allowed to play and were beaten by a side on top of their game, a side full of determination and brimming with self belief.
Craig Brown has at last got the team moving, with his two major signings Ricardo Fuller and Eddie Lewis causing havoc among opposing defenders.
Long may it continue.
