I READ with sadness a letter by Mr Ahmed in the September issue of Asian Image. I am saddened because it seemd to fuel anti-British hatred.

Firstly, Mr Ahmed had said, 'How can Muslims sit back and watch as the Americans and British continue to fight a phoney war'. Secondly Mr Nowaz stated in his article how 'Iraq was prepared to allow weapons inspectors in rather blindly I think.' Considering the 10 year struggle by the UN inspectors who's attempts to perform a detailed inspection have been thwarted what has Iraq got to hide?

Does Mr Ahmed not live in this country? I live here because I love the values of a democratic scoiety. The fact that we care for country's sick and poor. A country where our sons and daughters have an equal voice. A country based on the love thy neighbour principle of Christianity that accepts all cultures equally.

Would a white Christian be extended the same freedoms in Iraq and in Pakistan? Evidence shows contrary. If anyone prefers to live in a dictatorship, such as Iraq then it's up to them, but please don't criticise what Britian is trying to do. Britian is trying to protect our sons and aduaghters from harm.

I am sorry for the plight of the Palestinians for both the Arabs and the Jews. I can empathise with the degradation experienced by those who go on to become suicide bombers but this is extreme and to take the lives of innocent citizens will not get the sympathy for their cause and to kill is wrong.

The problem's of Palestine are complex and communication is the way to resolve it. America and Britain cannot be blamed as these governments have tried to help resolve the disputes.

Yet the people of Palestine should not have to face the treament that they do and I feel sad for them.

What can we do? Well if each and eveyone of us had a grain of love and grain of faith in our hearts we could move mountains.
