THE Islamic Society of Britain launched its National Islam Awareness Week ManchesterTown Hall this week.
Last years event followed the themed 'Peace and Justice' received popular interest as well as providing an outlet for the large Muslim community of Manchester to share in the grief and concerns of all.
This year the theme is 'Fasting to Remember' and is all about the community opening up and celebrating the month of fasting together.
Events taking place this week include sponsored Fasts on the 7th Nov at the following schools, Stretford High School, Altringham Grammar for Boys, Burnage High School, KD Grammar school for boys.
The above schools will also arrange Iftaris and sponsored fast certificates on the 13th and 20th November. (Dates to be confirmed)
Library exhibitions for one/two weeks starting November 4 at Hulme Library, Withington Library, Wythenshaw Library, Chorlton Library, Longsight Library
A fundraising dinner is also due to take place at the Sanam Restaurant on November 7 at 6.45pm. The £10 ticket charge has now been waived and it is free.
