RELATIVES of three Britons murdered during riots in India earlier this year lobbied MPs at the House of Commons to ask for help in putting pressure on Delhi to track down their killers.
Saeed Dawood, his cousin Shakil Dawood and their friend Mohamed Aswat, from Batley, West Yorkshire, were killed while on holiday in the Indian state of Gujarat in February when they were caught up in violence between Hindus and Muslims which led to hundreds of deaths.
They have since experienced problems in finding and repatriating their loved ones' bodies and have been frustrated by the Indian authorities' inability to bring anyone to trial for the killings.
Saeed's brother Bilal Dawood told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "It is frustrating, coming from the UK where we know how the justice system operates.
"I just feel we don't know what is happening. I don't feel that the right people are going to be brought to court.
"I don't feel as if we really know what is happening out there.
"It just feels at times that people are covering up and it feels that they just want to get some people up there and close the case."
He complained at the lack of support the family have had from the British authorities, "We have always had to push a lot of things. It would have been nice if we had some guidance in these instances.
"We have just had to do this by ourselves and muddle our way through."
