WHILST holidaying over the last few days in Clitheroe, I came across Monday's edition of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
I was horrified to read your front page story headlined 'Old soldiers into battle".
I find the lack of sensitivity shown by the Vicar of the Church of St Bartholomew's regarding the service time on Remembrance Sunday as truly unbelievable.
How can anyone get something so wrong?
Remembrance Sunday is known by everyone to include being at the local Cenotaph at 11am to observe the two-minute silence.
This act of remembrance is of the utmost importance to everyone as a mark of respect, whether they have taken part in any of the wars or have members of families lost in the wars and I find it absolutely incredible that the church is not prepared to change the time of the Sunday service.
I support Mr Myerscough and all other British Legion members in their stance and hope that all members of the public will also support the British Legion and be at the Cenotaph at 11am tomorrow.
