ASYLUM seekers in Nelson were delighted to receive gifts from youngsters in the area who spent their pocket money on picture dictionaries for them.
Children who attended a summer holiday club at Central Methodist Church, in Carr Road, learned about asylum seekers and refugees staying in Pendle and about their situation and why they are here.
They were very interested in them so they decided to carry out some jobs in their homes, which they were paid for, and used the money to buy the gifts.
The youngsters handed the eight picture dictionaries and a phrase book over to the asylum seekers at Central Methodist Church.
