THE principal of Moorland School told parents at the annual prizegiving evening last night how proud he was to be head of the Clitheroe school.
Paul Smith told a packed Parish Hall, on Church Brow he felt this whenever he showed prospective parents and pupils around the school, and they commented on the friendly atmosphere.
Mr Smith said this was a tribute to the staff but more importantly to the kindness and warmth of the pupils.
He said the school has changed in the last year with improvements being made to the school's baby unit, kindergarten, lower juniors, and various classrooms.
Mr Smith mentioned the school's new sports clubs that have introduced pupils to a range of activities from fencing and horse riding to aerobics.
He also took the time to mention the school's ethos to teach children the value of good manners and respect for themselves and for others.
Mr Smith finished by saying that the children at the school were a pleasure to teach and that their behaviour stands out.
