WESTLEIGH High pupil Sarah Molyneux is a 'good citizen'.
Fifteen years-old Sarah got her Good Citizenship Award on Friday from Leigh MP Andy Burnham in recognition of her sporting work with youngsters.
The Liverpool John Moores, Lloyds TSB and Liverpool Echo sponsored trophy went to Sarah for her dedication.
Sarah is a qualified junior sports leader and has worked as a volunteer with Wigan Council's sports development unit in athletics, hockey and cricket. In her own time she helps with primary school sport festivals, coaches Westleigh's Year 8 hockey team and has worked with disabled children at the Wigan Commonwealth Games.
Headteacher John Pout said: "Sarah Molyneux is a first class example of a responsible and caring young person. She has selflessly given up huge amounts of her time to help others. It is never easy for children to coach people of a similar age, but Sarah has genuine leadership qualities and Westleigh High School is very proud of her."
