GIRLS are being given the chance to take part in extreme sports as part of a unique new campaign being launched by Wigan Council.
The Youth Development Team is offering 12 local girls, aged 11-21, the opportunity to learn to skate, stay free of charge at a Liverpool hotel, then visit Rampworx -- the largest indoor skatepark in Europe.
The lucky dozen will be given a free skateboard for one month and be challenged to think of an idea to make their community better and learn some basic skating techniques. If they succeed they can keep the skateboard.
Places on the scheme will be offered to the first 12 girls to come forward. For details and to apply contact Jim on 01942 828546.
