AN environmental team project is helping put the wood back into Burnley Wood.
Seven semi-mature trees -- five beech and two western red cedars -- are to be planted at the top of Crowther Street.
The planting is the first phase of an programme to transform parts of Burnley Wood into green and pleasant open spaces.
The programme has been developed jointly by local residents, staff at Burnley Wood One Stop Shop, Forest of Burnley, Groundwork and Burnley Borough Council.
The planting ceremony will take place at 11am on Wednesday.
