IT is obvious that the majority of people do not agree with the proposed site of the new Darwen health centre -- behind the Leisure Centre on Tockholes Road.
There is supposed to be a petition for people to sign if they object to the proposed site. But where is it? Nobody seems to know.
One reason why the Tockholes Road site is said to be the best is because it will enable the new centre to be at ground-floor level. But this will be after struggling up steep streets to get there.
Two buildings suggested as ideal for a new health centre are the old clinic in Union Street and the former Technical School in Knott Street, but one said not to be suitable.
The Technical School now seems abandoned. So why not use it as a museum and also a computer centre, so that, once again, the town's library can be used for the purpose for which it was intended?
