FOOTBALL fans will soon be able to re-live an unforgettable moment in England's football history at the National Football Museum.
The Deepdale-based museum is to display the goalposts used in the Euro '96 championships in which Paul Gascoigne scored one of the greatest goals of all time against Scotland.
This piece of football history used in the tournament which saw England lose out to Germany in a classic semi-final will be placed at the museum's entrance.
They were due to be on show this week but were delayed as the vehicle transporting the goals from Suffolk got stuck in snow during the recent bad weather.
The goal posts will sit alongside the England team bench from the former dugout at Wembley, last used in Kevin Keegan's last match in charge in 2000 when England sadly lost out yet again to Germany.
Mark Bushell, from the museum, said: "We are delighted. The goal posts won't be on show until next week now, but, just like football, you can't predict the weather!
"We jumped at the chance to bring them to football's spiritual home.
"The bench had actually been installed prior to the 1996 European Championships so it will have been used by Terry Venables, Glen Hoddle and many of the players of the late '90s England squads including David Beckham. The goals and the bench together form a unique piece of football history."
