MORECAMBE keeper Craig Mawson is the latest Shrimps player to earn recognition with the National Game XI.
Mawson is in an under-23 England squad for a friendly next week against Belgium, his first call up to the national side for players outside the football league.
The former Burnley and Halifax player has shown consistent imp-rovement since joining the Shrimps at the start of last season.
But there is no place in the National Game squad for Garry Thompson, the winger who played in their last fixture against Italy.
In another international boost for the Shrimps, academy striker and Lancaster and Morecambe College student Garry Hunter was due to play for the England Colleges XI against Wales at Llanelli last night.
The 18-year-old is highly rated at Christie Park and plays reg-ularly for the reserves.
