WILDCATS, Centurions and Warriors are helping maximise the use of a Leigh school's minibus.
Westleigh High's community use experiement has proved so successful a second vehicle has joined the fleet and a 300 Club has been launched to fund it.
The school bought its first minibus three years ago and made it available for the use of community groups in Hindley Green and Westleigh.
Users including members of Xll Apostles' Girl Guides, Westleigh Warriors and Westleigh Wildcats basketball squads, Leigh ATC, St Paul's Primary School, Hindley Green CP School, Leigh Boys' Brigade, the 12th Wigan Boys' Brigade and Leigh Centurions RL were at school for the delivery of the new bus and the club launch.
Cost of diesel
For £300 any community group can use the buses for the cost of diesel for the next three years.
Head teacher, Mr John Pout, said: "We are fast becoming a genuine base for a vast array of community activities as well as providing a good education for our pupils.
"It makes sense to allow other groups, including sports clubs, theatre groups and youth groups in the area to use the buses."
