IT was a time when the likes of Wham and Duran Duran ruled the pop charts, Mrs Thatcher was in power, and these youngsters from Billinge High School in Blackburn were about to leave for pastures new.

And now they have the chance to meet up again thanks to a former pupil at the school -- now known as Beardwood -- who has organised a reunion for the classes of 1982 to 1984 at the St Alban's Social Centre on Saturday, March 22. Julie Campbell, of Blackburn, has spent months organising the get-together and has so far managed to get 80 ex-pupils but wants lots more.

She said: "The last time we had a reunion was in 1992 when we all went up to Manhattan Heights in Blackburn. The turnout was a bit low and I'm hoping more people will turn out." For tickets contact St Alban's on 01254 661193.
