THE outlook is certainly positive for a Bury-based window manufacturer and installer whose quality product has again received a national industry endorsement.
For the second time in ten years, Trident Windows has been awarded a coveted British Board of Agrement quality standard which is testament to the company's continuing commitment to producing nationally approved products.
The 20-strong Bury company prides itself on being a leading local Veka fabricator. Veka is one of the largest extruders of PVC-U window and door profile systems in the world.
And further good news for the firm is that Trident's business is well and truly buoyant, thanks in no small measure to a link established with a much-larger window manufacturer in Yorkshire.
Trident, based at the town's Portland Industrial Estate, manufactures and installs windows for housing association, local authority, health authority and other clients. The company was launched in Bury 13 years by managing director Ken Owen, installation director Pino Liotti and his brother Caine. Since then, Trident has steadily expanded its presence at its base and now occupies four units at the site.
Trident has been able to complete larger contracts thanks to their link with Barnsley-based Sash UK Ltd. They are involved in the installation of 1,800 windows for Pendle Council.
Trident prides itself on the quality of its workmanship. And the skills of their employees will be further enhanced, thanks to a new construction industry-led training programme which will be certified to NVQ (National Vocational Qualifications) Standard 2.
Trident is also a registered company with FENSA, the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme which was established by the Glass and Glazing Federation.
The move, which was made with Government approval, was in response to the new building regulations for England and Wales.
