YOUNG women wanting to make new friends, learn new skills and help others are invited to join a young women's health project.
The WISH Project, based at Leigh Well Women Centre in Church Street, offers support and information to girls and young women, aged 25 and under, on a range of health issues, from sexual health to relationships.
WISH runs a weekly drop-in centre between 4-8pm every Wednesday, where young women can chat confidentially about any worries or concerns, and an outreach service providing talks and courses on health issues to schools and youth centres.
More volunteers are needed to help support these schemes. Anyone interested will be given full training and out of pocket expenses, also the hours can be used to register with Millennium Volunteers to gain a nationally recognised award. Ring 01942 681411 for details.
