MORE than 500 graduates received a well-earned pat on the back at Blackburn College's annual higher education awards ceremony.
Certificates were awarded for Bachelor of Arts and Science degrees, masters and a range of Higher National Diploma's and vocational qualifications.
The qualifications were achieved through universities working with the college, including Hull, Lancaster and UCL in Preston.
Principal and chief executive Sheena Ewing congratulated all the students and in particular six first class degree graduates.
She said: "Blackburn College has links with over 40 schools, including Muslim schools and a very important part of our work is to increase this to widen choice, raise aspirations and achievements among our students."
Guests at the graduation ceremony included Lord Taylor of Blackburn, the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn Coun Tony and Jacqueline Humphrys and University chancellors.
