A YOUTH who made money by selling fake drugs was preyed upon by dealers to sell the real thing on their behalf.
And this led to the 16-year-old being caught out supplying cocaine to undercover police officers.
The Blackburn teenager, now aged 17, was given two years detention and training when he appeared for sentence at Preston Crown Court.
He had pleaded guilty to five offences of supplying drugs.
The offences occurred over a period of around three days in July last year.
Mr Arthur Stuttard, prosecuting, said initially two officers had rung a mobile telephone number and the defendant appeared near to the sports centre in Chester Street.
Two drugs wraps were handed over for a total of £20.
More drug dealing took place after this.
When interviewed by police, the boy told described how he had seen drug dealing taking place.
He then decided to make up some wraps, not containing illicit substances, to make some quick money.
Mr Peter Turner, defending, said the boy had been straight forward about what he did.
He did not blame anyone else for his initial conduct.
