TOWN centre wardens are helping to keep shoppers safe in Burnley.
In the last six months the wardens have dealt with 25 first aid incidents.
Wardens Pete Asworth and Helen Campbell, along with Charter Walk Shopping Centre's Marie Parrington have been the first to the scene and have applied first aid treatment until paramedics arrived.
All three have been first aid trained for some time now but have recently refreshed these skills by undertaking a four day training course. Marie Parrington said: "Customer and staff safety is of paramount importance in Burnley town centre and the more people we have first aid trained, the better.
"We are able to apply basic treatment and reassure the injured person and after assessment we can then call the emergency services if required.
"It gives me personal satisfaction when my intervention, and that of the wardens, assists an injured person who then goes on to a full recovery."
