COMMUNITY groups in Burnley are being offered the chance to be included in a government education website.

The National Grid for Learning (NGfL) is a free government-funded portal that acts as a gateway to more than 900 websites.

Many of these are aimed at teachers, but according to the group, there is a growing demand from people outside of education.

NGfL is now inviting community, interest and activity groups as well as libraries, charities or museums in Burnley to put their names forward.

To be considered websites must undergo a check to make sure it has educational content, is suitable for for a family audience and meet technical requirements.

Content officer is Emma Wilson.

Any organisation interested in the project can access a questionnaire at www.ngfl.gov.uk to apply just visit the site.
