CHILDREN got into the swing of Eid at a pre-celebration held at Daneshouse Community Centre.

Hundreds of youngsters and their parents gathered to celebrate Tuesday's celebrations with a lunch attended by Burnley mayor Gordon Birtwistle and his wife Kathleen.

Sufi Miah, vice-chairman of Daneshouse Community Economic Development Trust, said: "It was a celebration for all to enjoy.

"People from all communities were invited to take part in the activities which we had on offer."

The celebrations included a workshop for children like Sumaia Hussain, pictured, to designing their own Eid cards, face painting, badge making sessions, making chocolate lollipops, beauty therapy, and hair and make-up.
