A DARWEN schoolboy had the time of his life when he enjoyed a fantastic VIP day out at Ewood Park, home of Blackburn Rovers.
Daniel Fradd, 11, of Brighton Terrace, won the chance to sit in the most expensive football seat in the world and watch Rovers win 1-0 against Southampton.
The Avondale Primary School pupil took his grandma Winifred Godwin, of Kay Street, Darwen, to watch the game after winning the competition in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
He won the day out,-- which included being picked up from his home and hospitality after the game in the club's Premier Suite -- after construction company bosses Eddie Fitzpatrick and Michael White bought a ticket to the match for £10,000 in an auction at Mount Carmel RC High School, Accrington.
The ticket, originally bought for £20 by school governor Anthony Dobson, was auctioned in the school's fundraising drive for special technology status. The pair, who run EDM Construction in Leyland, then offered it up for grabs to a lucky youngster who could say from which club Rovers signed Vratislav Gresko.
Daniel's was the first correct entry drawn out of the hat and he said he was thrilled to bits to have won.
"My gran and I are both Blackburn Rovers supporters," he said. I was very excited and couldn't believe I had won. I have been to a few games so far this season, but this was the chance of a lifetime."
Mum Sandra Clarke said after the match: "He had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed himself."
