THE new-look Blackburn Museum has finally opened after a £500,000 revamp paid for by Lottery cash.
The museum now boasts three new galleries, including a Skill and Labour section.
An interactive computer guide uses historical figures to look at how Blackburn has evolved over the years.
The first floor gallery contains priceless medieval manuscripts and early religious texts, some dating back to the 15th century. A collection of spears, shields and totems from across the British Empire, can be found on the second floor.
The museum was opened by Blackburn Mayor Councillor Tony Humphrys and Councillor Kate Hollern, Blackburn with Darwen's executive member for culture, leisure and sport.
