A NEW service has been launched to help hospital patients access benefits.
Weekly advice clinics are being run by staff from Blackburn with Darwen Council's citizens' rights department at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn.
The initiative was launched jointly with patient advice groups because council bosses believe a lot of people are missing out on money to which they are entitled.
Coun Maureen Bateson, executive member for citizens rights, said: "Benefits can be confusing at the best of times, but especially so when people to into hospital."
