AS suggested in last week's column what better time for PNE to get back to winning ways than Saturdays game against the spoilers from Kent.
It's been a long time since we took three points from this fixture but boy was it worth the wait!
Improving Preston were a class above Gillingham, especially in midfield, where Brian O'Neil once again ran the show, what a superb signing he is.
Great to see Gillingham player/manager Hassenthaler booed off the field after an hour -- he's done us out of quite a few points over the years.
With this win Craig Brown has achieved something the previous field manager failed to do, (beat the Gills at Deepdale), so if he achieves nothing else this season we can at least thank him for laying the Gillingham jinx.
The PNE band are doing a good job since their move from Town End to Kop. Things seem to have livened up all around the ground. Keep up the good work.
This coming Saturday brings another home game this time against Millwall.
They are a dangerous side who like to play open attacking football, it should be a good match this.
But with the backing of the fans we are sure North End can gain another three points.
