A WORKER who suffered chemical burns after an industrial accident was comfortable in hospital today.
Andrew Shone, 30, was taken to Blackburn Infirmary yesterday suffering chemical burns, a punctured lung and abdominal injuries. Today his condition is described as comfortable.
The accident was at Invotec Group Ltd, in Cunliffe Road, Whitebirk. The company is co-operating with Health and Safety Executives to establish the exact cause of the accident.
It is thought Mr Shone was knocked into a vat of diluted sodium persulphate by overhead machinery.
