A MAN has admitted wounding four people in shooting incidents in Blackburn.

Ian Taylor, 35, faces sentencing next month after a judge at Preston Crown court adjourned the hearing so background reports can be drawn up.

Taylor, of Preston New Road, Blackburn, denied four charges of wounding with intent, but pleaded guilty to four lesser charges of unlawful wounding relating to an incident on August 21 last year when three men and a woman were injured when an air rifle was fired in the street.

The pleas to wounding were accepted by the Crown.

Taylor was remanded on bail by Judge Brian Duckworth to March 10 for sentence.

In a separate appearance before the same court, not guilty verdicts were entered against Mark McKay, 38, who faced the same charges.

McKay, also of Preston New Road, pleaded not guilty to four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Crown said it could not be proved that he shot any of the victims.
