BLACKBURN defender Craig Short has signed a 12 month extension to his contract.

Short, who will be 35 in June, had an option of another 12 months and he has decided to take it up.

He will remain at Ewood Park at least until the summer of 2004.

Short said: "My original contract was due to run out this summer, but I had the option to extend it based on appearances and I am delighted to do so."
