HOMEOWNERS in Pendle are being offered the chance to win £100 during February and March as part of Lancashire Waste Partnership's ongoing campaign to encourage people to recycle more of their rubbish.
Last year people in Pendle recycled 935 tonnes of paper and cardboard through their doorstep collection scheme.
The scheme covers around 32,000 households across the borough.
Householders can pick up a leaflet from their local town hall or council office on which they write their name and address and attach it to the top of their fortnightly paper for collection.
Recycling newspapers, magazines and cardboard can save energy and prevent a valuable resource from being wasted.
Every tonne of paper recycled will save 15 trees, as well as their surrounding habitat and wildlife.
Pendle Council's recycling officer, Denise Bell, said: "Newspapers, magazines and cardboard make up a significant portion of the typical bin in Pendle and if we are to achieve the challenging targets for waste reduction we need people to recycle more paper.
"Pendle Council is committed to making it easy for people to recycle thanks to this doorstep collection scheme."
