LESS than a month after being released from a prison sentence imposed for driving while disqualified, David Ainsworth was caught behind the wheel again.
Blackburn magistrates heard that at the time Ainsworth was subject to three separate disqualifications and the latest prison sentence was the second he had received last year for the same offence.
Ainsworth, 21, of Corporation Street, Accrington, was sent to prison for 120 days after the magistrates said they did not feel they needed pre-sentence reports.
Clare Fanning, prosecuting, said Ainsworth had admitted driving while disqualified in May and then again in September, when he was sentenced to 120 days. The same sentence was imposed again in November for a similar offence.
Clare Knight, defending, said on his release in January he wanted to get his life back on track and had planned to go into the furniture removal business with a friend.
The van he was driving was to be part of the business and he had been driving it around the corner to be repaired when he was stopped by the police, she said.
