MEMBERS of the Rossendale Valley Motorbike Show gave a total of £20,000 to 30 charities during a presentation night at Haslingden Cricket Club.
The money raised from their 10th annual show, held in Rawtenstall last September, was split between local and national causes -- and brings the total amount of money raised by the event to almost £90,000.
Simon Wilkinson, chief executive of the British Motorcyclists Federation (BMF) and a founder of the show, said: "I had a great day out and what particularly struck me was that the show presents a vision of a town without cars for one day. It is a little piece of heaven."
The BMF is to present the show committee with a silver salver to mark its tenth anniversary, which will be displayed in Rawtenstall Town Hall.
In addition to the presentation to charities, Rossendale Chamber of Commerce, one of the founder members of the show, handed out £2,000 to a project to build an Astro-turf pitch in Rawtenstall's Whitaker Park.
This year's bike show will be on September 21.
