THE controversial thriller Rope is the next production at the Playhouse theatre performed by Preston Drama Club.
Written by Patrick Hamilton in the 1920s, it was the Natural Born Killers of its day, dealing with taboo subjects including murder and homosexuality.
It is based on a real life incident about Leopold and Loeb, two killers, who, after reading a book that tells them to live a more interesting and fun life, choose a victim and kill him.
The question is, have they killed for the thrill of it, or because they hope it will bring them closer together?
To see it, from February 19 to 22, at the Playhouse, Market Street West, ring 744771. Tickets are £4 to £6. Please note the play is unsuitable for young children.
