A DRUNKEN mother of two who struggled with police was on medication and should not have been having alcohol, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard how it took three officers to carry Kerry Larkin, 38, into the police van. She was falling over and went from being in a frenzy one moment to comatose the next.
Larkin, of Chatham Street, Colne, admitted being drunk and disorderly. She was given a 12 months conditional discharge with £55 costs.
Dermot Woodhead, defending, said Larkin was prescribed strong and severe anti-depressants due to post traumatic stress disorder.
She was given medication after a trauma from which she had not properly recovered. The defendant knew full well she could not drink when she was taking her medication.
Larkin had not had any alcohol for three years, but had arranged to meet a friend and was upset. One thing led to another and the next thing she recalled was waking up in the police cells.
