LEIGH Townswomen's Guild members are just grand.
They presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Sephton Clinic for Alzheimers Disease at Leigh Infirmary the results of fund raising events such as bring and buy sales, afternoon teas and a choral concert during president Joan Allan's year in office.
Past beneficaries include the children's asthma clinic, Wigan and Leigh Hospice, Derian House and the Mary Sheridan Centre at Leigh Infirmary
The guild, formed in 1949, is seeking new members to help local charities.
Anyone interested in joining is welcome to attend meetings which start at 7.30pm on the first, second and fourth Thursday of every month in the Derby Room, Leigh Library.
