A FORMER police officer is facing jail after slashing the tyres on a car that he thought was going to be driven by a group of drunken teenagers.

Ex-Bury PC David Rhodes was found guilty of criminal damage at Oldham Magistrates Court earlier this year.

Rhodes committed the criminal damage offence on Good Friday last year.

He claimed he was morally and legally justified in slashing the tyres, but Judge Bridget Knight warned him he faced jail. He was due to be sentenced later today.
